Another great island getaway is Montego Bay, Jamaica. Once again Orbitz came in cheaper on the 4-night stay at the hotel with the five star rating and airfare at $1088 per person. Expedia and Travelocity had the cheaper price on the same package at the one star hotel with $722 per person.
What better island vacation packages then Honolulu, Hawaii. The 4-night stay in a five star hotel with airfare came in cheapest with Travelocity at $1370 a person. Expedia had the better package on the 1-star at $749. But the highest pricing for the 5-star deal.
Deciding on whether to stay in a one star or a five star really is just a matter of what you are willing to pay for. In the cheaper hotels you are not paying for the fitness center, fancy restaurants, concierge service and swimming pools. But if you're on vacation at an island resort do you really need a swimming pool and how much time are you actually going to spend at your hotel?
Since only the three more popular online travel agencies were compared, there could be even better offers out there.
